Thank you for your interest in becoming a Healing Spaces Train-the-Trainer Champions course!
The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to facilitate Healing Spaces sessions in your settings. Champions will also join a growing network of professionals committed to trauma-informed practice and peer support in the care of refugee and asylum-seeking children and youth.
Please read the below expectations carefully before submitting your application.
Please note that only one staff member per organisation can join this course.
Champion Expectations:
To become a Healing Spaces Champion, you must:
- Have completed one of our trauma-informed courses (preferably the Healing Spaces course)
- Attend four online quarterly meetups with IRC Education Officers and other Champions
- Complete the trainer’s workshop (2 hours) and review the training manual in your own time
- Lead Healing Spaces training sessions for your colleagues and gather staff feedback after each one to send to IRC
- Optional Opportunities:
- Collaborate with our Communications & Digital Team to share your story (e.g. social media, articles, advocacy)
- Visit our London Office to support program evaluation and events
- Receive ongoing 1:1 support from IRC (Teams, Zoom, or Email)
- US Collaboration
Please ensure you’ve spoken with your organisation’s leadership to allocate time for you to lead HS sessions internally before applying.
